Fieldbus is a perfect example of simplicity at its
best. It offers straight forward communication from
the control room all the way to each individual
field device. One common cable is sufficient to
supply power to the field devices and transport all
communications.
It is this versatility that has turned fieldbus into the
enabling technology for modern day process plants.
It not only supports process control, but also allows a
totally new level of device management. Via fieldbus,
the process control system is given total control over
each individual instrument. Field devices can be
configured and checked from the control room. Status
information and process values are available anytime.
