nnnnThe MSIM (Motor Stator Insulation Monitoring) system is designed for measuring
nnnnand monitoring the motor's stator insulation condition. The MSIM uses the state
nnnnof the art technologies to measure the leakage current of the motor online,
nnnnprocess the measured data in real time to determine the condition of the stator
nnnninsulation of the motor. Processed data and results can be displayed on the
nnnn3500/94 Display.
nnnnThe MSIM system includes:
nnnn• 3 High Sensitivity Current transducers (HSCTs)
nnnn• 3 HSCT Interface Modules
nnnn• 2-3 High Voltage Sensors (HVSs)
nnnn• 2-3 High Voltage Sensor Interface Modules
nnnn• 1-3 RTD (temperature sensor) Interface Modules
nnnn• 1 MSIM I/O Module
nnnn• 13500/82 MSIM Monitor
nnnnThe 3500/82 can accept 3 HSCT, 3 HVS, and 3 temperature inputs. Since the
nnnninterface modules are capable of driving long field cables, the monitor can be
nnnnsituated in a control or instrumentation room up to 330 meters (1,000 feet) away
nnnnfrom the motor or the interface modules.
nnnnThe MSIM is featured with measurement trending by comparing the current
nnnnmeasurements to any historical data taken in the last 30 years (if the historical
nnnndata is available). The time window for comparison is user configurable.
nnnnThe MSIM has seven buffered outputs for diagnostic purposes, HVS, HSCT values
nnnnand average temperature.
