nnnnThe Rolls-Royce Bergen B32:40 is a
nnnnpowerful and reliable diesel engine
nnnnbased on traditional robustness of the
nnnnBergen B32:36 engine series, but with an
nnnnincreased power output per cylinder at
nnnn450kWand reduced fuel consumption.
nnnnA combination of high performance,
nnnnreliability and cost-effective operation
nnnnmake it an ideal engine for a wide range
nnnnof land based power applications.
nnnnThe Bergen B32:40 range is available with
nnnnoutputs from 2.7 to 7.2MW in 6, 8 and 9
nnnncylinder in-line configuration or 12 and 16
nnnncylinderVee configuration.
nnnnIt uses the latest design technigues and
nnnnproduction technologies to realise the full
nnnnpotential of the B engine family, which first
nnnnentered service in 1985.
nnnnA new crankshaft gives greater bearing area
nnnnwhile also allowing for the extended stroke.
nnnnNew bearing technologies cater for greater
nnnnloads and changes to cylinder liners, pistons
nnnnand rings ensure close control over
nnnntemperature at all points, ensuring
nnnnminimum consumption of lubricating oil
nnnnand low cylinder wear.
nnnnWith our wealth of experience in the power
nnnngeneration and mechanical drive fields
nnnnRolls-Royce can engineer the optimum
nnnnBergen B32:40 solution for any application,
nnnnwhether base load or island mode. In
nnnnaddition, our ability to provide Integrated
nnnnPower Solutions allows us to supply not only
nnnnthe bare engine but to extend this further
nnnnwith a more comprehensive power package
nnnnincluding combined heat and power or
nnnnwaste to energy plants.

nnnnfor full mechanical system designs, including
nnnnfuel storage, handling, cooling options and
